The Worshipping Wise Men

Hi TNCC Family!

Did you catch the "The Worshipping Wise Men" message? In this final message of the "Christmas Myth Or Miracle?" series, Pastor Nik takes a deeper look at the story of the Magi from the East that came to worship Jesus, shortly after his arrival to the earth.    More than a fable, more than a legend, the story of the wise men reveals how wisdom from God is both available and shown through our actions.

The Story of the Magi
The sermon delves into the story of the Magi, or wise men, who journeyed to worship Jesus, as told in Matthew 2. Pastor Nik begins by drawing a parallel between the wise men's journey and a quote from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." He suggests that the wise men, like us, had to decide what to do with their time and chose to seek out and worship Jesus.
Wisdom from God
Pastor Nik reiterates the sermon's main idea: wisdom from God is available to us but is revealed through our actions. He emphasizes that studying the Bible and having access to spiritual leaders does not necessarily change one's heart.
Invest Wisely
Discusses the wise men's journey to see Jesus, emphasizing the time, skill, and personal treasure they invested. He encourages the congregation to invest their lives wisely for Jesus.
Relate Wisely
Highlights the unity of the wise men, despite having access to people of power and wealth. Pastor Nik asks the congregation to consider who influences them and encourages them to keep company with the wise.
Worship Wisely
The final point emphasizes the importance of wise worship. Pastor Nik encourages the congregation to make Jesus the hero of their faith and to welcome others into their church family.
The Worship of the Magi
The pastor talks about the Magi's worship of Jesus, contrasting it with the worship of power and position by Herod and the chief priests. He encourages the congregation to question what their hearts are worshipping this Christmas.
